Cheminova has entered into an agreement with Bayer CropScience concerning the acquisition of the global rights to the insecticide acrinathrin.
In 2002 Cheminova acquired an exclusive European license to acrinathrin from Bayer CropScience, and the acquisition completed now covers the acrinathrin business in the rest of the world. Cheminova and Bayer CropScience have entered into a global long-term supply agreement on acrinathrin.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
Acrinathrin is a pyrethroid insecticide used for control of thrips and mites in fruit, vegetables and ornamentals. The product is primarily marketed under the trademarks Rufast®, Orytis® and Ardent®. Outside of Europe, the main markets are Japan and several Latin American countries, including Bra-zil, Chile and Colombia.
Having marketed acrinathrin in Europe since 2002, Cheminova is uniquely positioned to exploit the commercial potential of acrinathrin in the rest of the world.
