Cheminova acquires controlling interest in the Hungarian company Kerolagro
In order to strengthen its position in the Hungarian market, Cheminova has acquired the controlling interest in the Hungarian company Kerolagro as of April 2, 2007.
Kerolagro was recently de-merged from the company Cherole with Kerolagro acquiring and continuing all Cherole’s activities within the plant protection and plant nutrition business in Hungary. Kerolagro has 7 employees and a turnover of approx. DKK 20 millions.
Cherole’s - and therefore Kerolagro’s - activities date back to 1995 and Cherole has over the years established itself as a professional and independent distributor of plant protection and plant nutrition products for both crop and non-crop uses in Hungary. Kerolagro will continue Cherole’s successful trajectory:
- Kerolagro will continue to promote and develop its existing, broad product portfolio, adding future Cheminova products to the portfolio in the years to come.
- Kerolagro will continue to support and serve its established customer base.
- Dr. Mihály Snekszer, who founded and managed Cherole, will be Managing Director of Kerolagro.
“We believe that Kerolagro together with our newly established sales and marketing organisations in Romania and Bulgaria will form an excellent platform for Cheminova’s growth in the important Central European market”, says Jesper K. Hansen, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Cheminova.
Kerolagro will as soon as practically possible change name to Cheminova Magyarország.
