Accurate® is a systemic herbicide absorbed through the foliage and roots. Accurate® belongs to the group of ALS inhibitors, which act by inhibiting the biosynthesis of the essential amino acids Isoleucine, Valine and Leucine, thus stopping cell division and plant growth. More tolerant crops, such as cereals, are not affected since the crops metabolize and inactivate Accurate® before it can damage the plant. Injury symptoms to weeds caused by Accurate® are not apparent until several days after treatment, although susceptible plants stop growing almost immediately and die after 2-4 weeks, depending on growth and climatic conditions. Generally, conditions favouring vigorous growth of plants also speed up the development of symptoms and death to the weeds. The early symptoms of Accurate® on the weeds include chlorosis (yellowing) of young organs and meristems, followed by necrosis (brown colouring).
The main advantages of Accurate® can be summarized as:
- Broad spectrum of weeds controlled
- Low dosage rates
- Broad application window, making it a flexible partner in pest programs
- Low acute and chronic toxicity towards man and wildlife
- 4 to 6 weeks of residual control for late germinating weeds
- Excellent tank mixture partner
- Maximizes full yield potential as it is gentle on the crop
