Background - Fyfanon®

Malathion is an organophosphorous insecticide developed and introduced by American Cyanamid in 1952. Cheminova began producing malathion under the trade name Fyfanon® in 1968. In 1991, Cheminova acquired American Cyanamid's malathion business and became the leading manufacturer of malathion.

 

Through constant technology improvement Cheminova has increased the purity of malathion to 96-98% resulting in a significant reduction in toxicity and odour, allowing Cheminova's Fyfanon Technical to be defined as WHO Class III (slightly hazardous).
